Any Flavor Jello Cake

This cake is so easy to make and would be great using any flavor of Jello.  I used orange jello for our first try; it was great, a huge hit!

You can add food coloring if you want the coloring brighter.
You could also add an extract of the flavor you choose to intensify the flavor.

Ingredients:
-3 oz. pkg jello, flavor of your choice
-1/2 cup cold water
-18.25 oz. pkg white cake mix (I used 2- 9 oz. boxes of Jiffy white cake mix)
-4 eggs
-1 cup canola or vegetable oil
-3 tbsp flour
-optional:  food coloring of choice (to go with the flavor you chose) and/or flavored extract to go with the flavor you chose (I did orange jello and about 1/4 tsp orange extract)

-frosting of your choice (I when for easy and used Betty Crocker's Home Style Fluffy White frosting mix for a 2 layer cake, you just add water and beat.)

Process:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Grease and flour 2 or 3 nine inch round cake pans (you decide either will work; you could also do this in a 9 x 13 and just adjust the cooking time a bit to cook through to the center).
3. In a large bowl, dissolve jello in cold water.
4. Stir in the cake mix, eggs, oil and flour.
5. Beat for 5 minutes on medium speed.
6. Divide the cake batter between your prepared cake pans.
7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cake springs back when gently pressed in the center.
8. Cool cakes in pans on a wire rack.
To Frost Layered Cake:
1. Prepare your frosting of choice.
2. Remove the cooled cake rounds from the pans, carefully.
3. Take about 1 tbsp of frosting and smear it directly onto your cake serving platter. {This will stop your cake from moving around on your serving plater.}
4. Place your bottom layer of the cake centered on the serving platter.
5. Frost a generous amount of frosting onto the top of the bottom layer.
6. Stack the next cake round centered on top of the bottom layer.  Repeat if doing more layers.
 7. Frost the top and the sides of the assembled cake.
 8. Enjoy!

Little Miss J really enjoyed it! :D
